Volunteer

Our volunteers are the backbone of our agency and help support our ability to continue serving families in need. We appreciate your commitment to helping us continue to help people and change lives.

Our volunteers serve in a variety of ways, including but not limited to:

  • Program Support
    Working to assist with tasks associated with currently operating programs.
  • Community Engagement
    Assisting with events aimed an engaging the communities, including fundraisers and special events.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

  • Meals On Wheels Drivers via Ashtabula County Community Action

    • Volunteers needed to deliver meals to homes in the northern 2/3rds of Ashtabula County
    • Monday-Friday, times vary but generally between 10 am and 2 depending on the route

  • 2-1-1 Information & Referral Call Specialist via Ashtabula County Community Action Agency

    • Seeking dedicated volunteers to answer calls to our Information and Referral Service
    • Flexible hours on Monday-Friday, between 8:00 am- 4:30 pm
    • Complete training provided

  • Dragon Empowerment Center (DEC) via Community Action of Ashtabula County

    Tutoring
    • Volunteers needed to help the children increase their reading and math skills; one-on-one or small group
    • Flexible schedule, days and times vary

    Healthcare Chaperone
    • Seeking volunteer to escort children from their classroom to the DEC for dental services, then return to class (travel between school buildings on Wade Campus)
    • Tuesday and Thursday mornings, shift length varies
    • Extensive walking indoors and outdoors required

    Special Events Assistance
    • Seeking volunteer to assist with DEC special events
    • Varies based on event schedule
    • Includes registration, set-up, tear-down, information distribution, food service, and/or conducting workshops or demonstrations

  • Interns

    Seeking someone with computer skills studying Information Technology to assist with our agency networking task. Email dmauri@accaa.org

  • Volunteer Guest Speakers

  • Fundraisers

  • Mentors

    Seeking Mentors for our Next Step Mentorship Program
    • Mentor will be matched with an individual has completed one of our programs and is looking for the Next Step in their effort to achieve self-sufficiency
    • Frequency of meetings agreed upon between Mentor and Mentee
    • Complete training for the Mentor provided

  • Special Events Community Outreach
