Home Weatherization Assistance Program
The Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP), also simply referred to as "Weatherization," is a designed to improve energy efficiency, reduce energy consumption and ensure safe environments for income eligible households. Qualifying households receive:
- an on-site inspection and energy audit
- safety testing for combustion appliances
- energy saving education
- cleaning and tune up of heating system
- installation of measures identified in the energy audit
Additional assistance may include repair or replacement of combustion appliances, air sealing measures including window and door repair, caulking and door seals, insulation of attic, sidewalls, floor, or other measures as indicated by audit.
